The platform addresses the growing demand for electricity from data centers, especially as AI, image, and video searches consume exponentially more power than traditional internet searches, with AI video searches requiring 10,000 times the power of a basic Google search.
The HST marketplace platform specifically facilitates co-location and joint development between power generation developers and data center developers by providing pre-vetted listings of sites suitable for co-location. The platform evaluates sites based on power availability within 30-month timelines, community outlook, permitting outlook, proximity to markets, and access to resources like fiber optics, workforce, natural gas, and water. This approach allows users to match efficiently with all necessary counterparties to get co-located data and power campuses built 2-3 years earlier than traditional methods, addressing the “land without power is just dirt” challenge highlighted in the presentation.
